When joining SMA in 2011, Dr. Jens Eiko Birkholz was initially in charge of global market analysis and developing strategy roadmaps for new business segments. He was involved in the foundation process of SMA Sunbelt Energy GmbH, a 100% subsidiary of the SMA group, and is responsible since 2015 for Sales and Business Development in this company, predominantly for Off-Grid, PV-Hybrid and Storage applications. Prior to working with SMA, Mr. Birkholz did his PhD in Physics at University of Göttingen and worked as a management consultant for the Boston Consulting Group.
