Nick was a founder-director when Spinetic Energy was established in 2013 and since then has served the company in a financial/commercial capacity. He had previously worked for eight years as an independent consultant to technology SMEs and their investors, focusing mainly on renewable energy. His work covered all aspects of technology commercialisation and financing, from company formation through to business planning and marketing. His previous career provided a good apprenticeship for this consultancy work, having spent the first ten years gaining industrial experience in the oil & gas, power generation, aerospace and defence sectors. Starting as a technologist, his roles migrated progressively into strategic planning, marketing and business development. He then worked for eight years in the City as an investment banker advising companies in the technology sector. He has a Physics degree from Cambridge and an Engineering PhD from Imperial College.
