Federal University of Pará

Pedro Torres obtained his BSc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidade Federal do Pará - UFPA (Brazil) in 2017 and is currently pursuing a master's degree at the same institution. He develops research activities at the Group of Studies and Development of Energy Alternatives (GEDAE / UFPA), where he is working on his master's dissertation in the field of low-voltage DC distribution microgrids and its integration to photovoltaic generation and dc loads. His main research interests are in the areas of power electronics, power systems and embedded systems, applied to the development of renewable energy systems for grid-connected and off-grid applications. Pedro is a 2018 National Geographic Explorer, where he developed a DC solar home system to supply productive activities at an off-grid community in the Brazilian Amazon.
