Takehiro Kawahara

Takehiro joined Bloomberg NEF in December 2012. After engaging in research and analysis for Japan's renewable energy sector, he joined the Frontier Power team in February 2017. The team covers distributed energy technologies for unreliable grid and off-grid areas primarily in emerging countries such as Sub-Saharan Africa, South/South East Asia, and Latin America. He has worked on energy for telecom tower infrastructure, microgrid control system industry and on-site solar for commercial and industrial customers. Takehiro also gave presentations at several events such as the Off-Grid Power Conference in Intersolar Europe and Asian Development Bank's workshop.

Prior to Bloomberg NEF, Takehiro completed a Master's degree in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science at Lund University in Sweden, and worked in Japan's Science and Technology Agency.
